Amy Stratton - Headshot 2

What do you love most about blogging?
What I love most about blogging is meeting new people and helping them in some way. I love sharing my life and advice with others. Especially being a part of this military lifestyle, having a community is key and I have made so many friends through my blog.

Tell us a little bit more about your decorating style in general.
My decorating style is very American. I like red, white, and blue, and I love being patriotic. I also have a love for antiques and wooden pieces, which meshes well with that!

How would you describe your holiday decorating style? And how has it evolved through the years?
My holiday decorating style is very handmade. I don’t like to spend a lot of money on seasonal things, but since I do enjoy crafting I take to DIY-ing most of my décor for the holidays. I enjoy being thrifty and try to avoid buying a lot of things that would only be out for a few months at a time.

What holiday decorating do’s and don’ts can you share with our readers?
Stick with your décor style. Don’t buy things just because others are, and avoid trends because they will come and go, which means you’ll constantly have to keep up with it.

Is there an Independence Day memory that left an impression on you from your childhood or recent years?
My most memorable Independence Day was spent with my family in Waco, Texas on the Brazos River. A military band played for everyone and there was a beautiful fireworks show at the end. My husband was still deployed at this time and was to arrive home a few months later. I just remember my emotions so vividly and what pride I felt for our country and military service members.

What is your must-have July 4th decoration item or decor, and why?
My must-have July 4th decoration is hard to choose, because my entire home is basically filled with them! But it would probably have to be my flag banner that I have had for a while now.

What do you like most about your Tree Classics tree? How do you plan to decorate it?
What I like most about my Tree Classics tree would have to be the quality. I’ve had a lot of faux trees in the past, and nothing has compared to the craftsmanship of this tree! I plan to decorate it with red and blue ribbon with a few crafts as ornaments.

Are there any Independence Day traditions that you enjoy doing with your loved ones every year?
I haven’t really had a chance to create traditions with my husband because he has been gone for two out of the three Independence Day’s we have shared together. However, I do love watching the fireworks and hearing them!

What can we look forward to on your blog this holiday season? Do you have exciting new holiday decor or party ideas?
You can look forward to many fun blog posts this season. I plan to do a Christmas in July Christmas tree and do a few crafts that will look great by it.

Can you tell us in a sentence what Independence Day is to you?
Independence Day to me is feeling extreme pride and love for our country.
