Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, home to many Irish immigrants, my memory is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a large St. Patty’s Day parade, lots of corned beef and cabbage, and of course, beer. Now as a mom of four and living in a small town in Southern Michigan, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to recreate a festive, family celebration at home. My first thought was how can I make it a little classier? You know — less crazy green and shamrocks. But honestly, who wants that? That would take all the fun out of St. Patty’s day. Entertaining for the Holidays

When it comes to the holiday season, I love to host friends and family whether it’s for brunch, dinner, or appetizers and cocktails. Now, I won’t lie—before I hit send on my Paperless Post invitations (my favorite way to mail invites), it always feels a bit daunting to add events to an already full December calendar. But I remind myself that gathering friends and family to eat, drink, and be merry is what makes the holiday season memorable! It also forces me to stay on task, clean a bit, and decorate.
